Doğu Eroğlu is a writer and a staff investigative reporter for Turkish independent news outlet Medyascope.
He began his journalism career in 2011 at Cumhuriyet newpaper, before moving to Daily Birgun where he worked from 2013 to 2017. He also published with other Turkish outlets, including Diken.com.tr, and international outlets, Newsweek, Vice.com, and al-Monitor.
Eroğlu wrote for several years on climate justice, the environment, and human rights, before shifting his focus to conflict, the recruitment dynamics of Salafist jihadism, and the logistics of armed conflict.
In 2018, Eroğlu published his first book, IŞİD Ağları [Islamic State Networks in Turkey], a deep dive into the Salafist jihadism scene in Turkey during the 2013-2017 period.
He lives in Ankara and Istanbul.
